There was a little maidenB
In blue and silver drestC
She sang to God in HeavenB
And God within her breastC

It flooded me with pleasureD
It pierced me like a swordC
When this young maiden sang My soulE
Doth magnify the LordC

The stars sing all togetherD
And hear the angels singF
But they said they had never heardC
So beautiful a thingF

And at the hour of deathJ
