Shall Love, As The Bridal Wreath, Whither And Die? Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAAB CDCCD

Shall love as the bridal wreath wither and dieA
Or remain ever constant and sureB
As the years of the future pass rapidly byA
And the waves of adversity's tempest roll highA
Ever changeless and fervent endureB
-
Mistake not the fancy that lasts but a dayC
For the love which eternally thrivesD
That sentiment false is as prone to decayC
As the wreath is to fade and to wither awayC
And like it it never revivesD
