If I Have Lived Before Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDFGG HIHIJJ

If I have lived before some evidenceA
Should that existence to the present bindB
Some innate inkling of experienceA
Should still imbue and permeate the mindB
If we progressing pass from state to stateC
Or retrograde as turns the wheel of fateC
-
If I have lived before and could my eyesD
But view the scenes wherein that life was spentE
Or even for an instant recognizeD
The climes conditions and environmentF
Beloved by them in that pre natal spanG
Though past and future both be sealed to manG
-
Or if perchance kind memory should ope'H
Her floodgates with fond recollection fraughtI
'Twould then renew the dormant fires of hopeH
Now smothered out by speculative thoughtI
'Twould then rekindle faith within a breastJ
Where doubt is now the sole remaining guestJ
