Christmas Chimes Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAAB CBCCB DBDDB

Once more the merry Christmas bellsA
Are ringing far and wideB
Their chime in rhythmic chorus swellsA
While every brazen throat foretellsA
A joyous ChristmastideB
-
What is the burden of your chimeC
Ye bells of ChristmastideB
What tidings in your clangorous rhymeC
What message would your tongues sublimeC
To human hearts confideB
-
Our chime is of salvation's planD
And every ChristmastideB
Since Christmas bells to chime beganD
We've caroled Heaven's gift to manD
A Saviour crucifiedB
