Battle Hymn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBBCC DBDBEF GHGHCC

Almighty Power Who through the pastA
Our Nation's course has safely ledB
Behold again the sky o'ercastB
Again is heard the martial treadB
Our stay in each contingencyC
Our Father's God we turn to theeC
-
For lo The bugle note of warD
Is wafted from a southern strandB
O Lord of Battles we imploreD
The guidance of Thy mighty handB
While as of yore the hero drawsE
His sword in Freedom's sacred causeF
-
And when at last the oaken wreathG
Shall crown afresh the victor's browH
And Peace the conquering sword resheathG
Be with us then as well as nowH
Our stay in each contingencyC
In peace or war we turn to TheeC
