As The Shifting Sands Of The Desert Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDECEFFE GHGHCIJIKKI LMNMOGCGPPG

As the shifting sands of the desertA
Are born by the simoon's wrathB
And in wanton and fleet confusionC
Are strewn on its trackless pathB
So our lives with resistless furyD
Insensibly and unknownE
With a restless vacillationC
By the winds of fate are blownE
But an All Wise HandF
May have changed the sandF
For a purpose of His ownE
-
As the troubled and turbulent watersG
As the waves of the angry mainH
Respond with their undulationsG
To the breath of the hurricaneH
So our lives on Time's boundless oceanC
Unwittingly toss and rollI
And unconsciously drift with the currentJ
Which evades our assumed controlI
But a Hand of loveK
From the skies aboveK
May have guided us past a shoalI
-
Ephemeral mobile and fleetingL
Our delible paths we treadM
And fade as the crimson sunsetN
When the heavens are tinged with redM
As the gorgeously tinted rainbowO
Retains not its varied dyesG
We change with the constant mutationC
Of desert of sea and skiesG
But the Hand which madeP
Knows each transient shadeP
Which passes before the eyesG
