The Resolve Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDEFGHG GEGEIJIJKLKL

Tell me not of a face that's fairA
Nor lip and cheek that's redB
Nor of the tresses of her hairA
Nor curls in order laidC
Nor of a rare seraphic voiceD
That like an angel singsE
Though if I were to take my choiceD
I would have all these thingsE
But if that thou wilt have me loveF
And it must be a sheG
The only argument can moveH
Is that she will love meG
-
The glories of your ladies beG
But metaphors of thingsE
And but resemble what we seeG
Each common object bringsE
Roses out red their lips and cheeksI
Lilies their whiteness stainJ
What fool is he that shadows seeksI
And may the substance gainJ
Then if thou'lt have me love a lassK
Let it be one that's kindL
Else I'm a servant to the glassK
That's with Canary linedL
