Halls Grew Darker Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFEG HIJI CKCK

Halls grew darker and somehow fadedA
Grates of windows drowned in blackB
Every knight every beautiful ladyC
Knew the tiding The Queen's deadly sickD
-
And the king very silent and frownedE
Passed the doors lost of pages and slavesF
Every word that by chance cast aroundE
Proved the truth of the closing graveG
-
By the doors of the silent abodeH
I was crying while pressing the braceI
At the end of the passage remoteJ
Someone echoed me hiding his faceI
-
By the doors of the Beautiful LadyC
I was sobbing attired in blueK
And the stranger of ashen face sadlyC
Echoed me all my sufferings throughK
