A Girl Sang A Song Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD AEAE FGHG IJKL

A girl sang a song in the temple's chorusA
About men tired in alien landsB
About the ships that left native shoresC
And all who forgot their joy to the endD
-
Thus sang her clean voice and flew up to the highnessA
And sunbeams shined on her shoulder's whiteE
And everyone saw and heard from the darknessA
The white and airy gown singing in the lightE
-
And all of them were sure that joy would burst outF
The ships have arrived at their beachG
The people in the land of the aliens tiredH
Regaining their bearing are happy and reachG
-
And sweet was her voice and the sun's beams aroundI
And only by Caesar's Gates high on the vaultJ
The baby versed into mysteries mournedK
Because none of them will be ever returnedL
