Social Amenities Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCBADAEFGEI am getting on well with this anecdote | A |
When suddenly I recall | B |
The many times I have told it of old | C |
And all the worked up phrases and the dying fall | B |
Of voice well timed in the crisis the note | A |
Of mock heroic ingeniously struck | D |
The whole thing sticks in my throat | A |
And my face all tingles and pricks with shame | E |
For myself and my hearers | F |
These are the social pleasures my God | G |
But I finish the story triumphantly all the same | E |
