Doors Of The Temple Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCBDEDEFGGFG

Many are the doors of the spirit that leadA
Into the inmost shrineB
And I count the gates of the temple divineB
Since the god of the place is God indeedC
And these are the gates that God decreedC
Should lead to his house kisses and wineB
Cool depths of thought youth without restD
And calm old age prayer and desireE
The lover's and mother's breastD
The fire of sense and the poet's fireE
But he that worships the gates aloneF
Forgetting the shrine beyond shall seeG
The great valves open suddenlyG
Revealing not God's radiant throneF
But the fires of wrath and agonyG
