Our Boys Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDCEFGF HIJIKLCL

Written after the United States entered the war fighting on the side of the Entente AlliesA
-
-
Halt Attention Salute the flagB
The boys are marching byC
They're going forth to win the warD
For us to do or dieC
Our country needed fighting menE
Her liberty to saveF
These boys responded to the callG
And all they had they gaveF
-
All loyal hearts are beating fastH
And hope our bosoms fillI
For liberty shall reign supremeJ
O'er ocean dale and hillI
With no regrets for parted hopesK
Or futures cast asideL
Our soldier boys are marching byC
They are our country's prideL
