Fabrication Of Ancestors Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDEFFGHIJKLMNOPQRSF TUOVO

For old Billy Dugan shot in the ass in the Civil War my father saidA
-
The old wound in my assB
has opened up again but IC
am past the prodigiesD
of youth s campaigns and weepE
where I used to laughF
in war s red humors halfF
in love with silly assed painsG
and half not feeling themH
I have to sit up withI
an indoor unsittable itchJ
before I go down lateK
and weeping to the stormL
cellar on a dirty nightM
and go to bed with the wormsN
So pull the dirt up over meO
and make a family jokeP
for Old Billy Blue BallsQ
the oldest private in the worldR
with two ass holes and noS
place more to go to for a laughF
except the last one SayT
The North won the Civil WarU
without much help from meO
although I wear a proofV
of the war s obscenityO
