On The Cross Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEEFGHIJK LKMKNOPQI RSNT DUVL

On the Cross his arms spreadA
To welcome allB
But none cameC
When he raised his voiceD
And gave up his SpiritE
The veil split to reveal the secretE
But all ranF
To Grace all he calledG
But in fear are clothedH
For guilt we carryI
Many were friends since all were closeJ
And many hid when he laid in painK
-
Was he forsakenL
Yes Because he was in painK
Friends did he seekM
But all in vainK
Torture he experienced and torment he carriedN
Mockery he gotO
For in it I gainedP
With thorns he was crownedQ
Though in them was the gloryI
-
What shall we say thenR
When the beloved is forsaken for my sakeS
When our burden is carriedN
As the Prince is forgotten and humiliatedT
-
Oh RejoiceD
For shame is clothed with greatnessU
And death is defeatedV
As sin is brokenL
