My Face Turned Upwards To The Sky Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IJKL MINO

My face turned upwards to the skyA
One summer night I lay upon some hayB
A lively close knit starry chorusC
Was flickering all aroundD
-
The mute earth nebulous and dreamlikeE
Rushed off without a traceF
And I like Eden's first inhabitantG
Faced night's gaze all aloneH
-
Was it I hurtling into midnight's depthsI
Or was it crowds of stars that hurtled toward meJ
It seemed as if a mighty palmK
Held me suspended over the abyssL
-
And with a heart confused and stunnedM
I cast my gaze into the depthsI
Whence sinking every moment deeperN
I never will returnO
