Becalmed Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDDCEE

The flag is listless limp It dances notA
As deep the sea breathes from a gentle breastB
As any bride who dreams at love's behestB
And wakes and sighs then casts with dreams her lotA
Sails hang upon the masts useless forgotA
Like folded standards which the warriors wrestB
And bring home broken from the battle's crestB
The sailors rest them in some sheltered spotA
-
O Sea within your unknown deeps concealedC
When storms are wild your monsters dream and sleepD
And all their cruelty for the sunlight keepD
Thus Soul of Mine in your sad deeps concealedC
The monsters sleep when wild are storms They startE
From out some blue sky's peace to seize my heartE
