Yesterdays Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF

Gone and they return no moreA
But they leave a light in the heartB
The murmur of waves that kiss a shoreA
Will never I know departB
-
Gone yet with us still they stayC
And their memories throb through lifeD
The music that hushes or stirs to dayC
Is toned by their calm or strifeD
-
Gone and yet they never goE
We kneel at the shrine of timeF
'Tis a mystery no man may knowE
Nor tell in a poet's rhymeF
