The Poet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACC DEDE FGHGEE

The Poet is the loneliest man that livesA
Ah me God makes him soB
The sea hath its ebb and flowB
He sings his songs but yet he only givesA
In the waves of the words of his artC
Only the foam of his heartC
-
Its sea rolls on forever evermoreD
Beautiful vast and deepE
Only his shallowest thoughts touch the shoreD
Of Speech his deepest sleepE
-
The foam that crests the wave is pure and whiteF
The foam is not the waveG
The wave is not the sea it rolls forever onH
The winding shores will craveG
A kiss from ev'ry wavelet on the deepE
Some come some always sleepE
