The Child Of The Poet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCE FDGFD AHAHII

The sunshine of thy Father's fameA
Sleeps in the shadows of thy eyesB
And flashes sometimes when his nameA
Like a lost star seeks its skiesB
-
In the horizons of thy heartC
His memory shines for ayeD
A light that never shall departC
Nor lose a single rayE
-
Thou passest thro' the crowds unknownF
So gentle so sweet and so shyD
Thy heart throbs fast and sometimes may grow lowG
Then aloneF
Art the star in thy Father's skyD
-
'Tis fame enough for thee to bear his nameA
Thou couldst not ask for moreH
Thou art the jewel of thy Father's fameA
He waiteth on the bright and golden shoreH
He prayeth in the great EternityI
Beside God's throne for theeI
