Parting Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FCFC GHGH IJIJ

Farewell that word has broken heartsA
And blinded eyes with tearsB
Farewell one stays and one departsA
Between them roll the yearsC
-
No wonder why who say it thinkD
Farewell he may fare illE
No wonder that their spirits sinkD
And all their hopes grow chillE
-
Good bye that word makes faces paleF
And fills the soul with fearsC
Good bye two words that wing a wailF
Which flutters down the yearsC
-
No wonder they who say it feelG
Such pangs for those who goH
Good bye they wish the parted wealG
But ah they may meet woeH
-
Adieu such is the word for usI
'Tis more than word 'tis prayerJ
They do not part who do part thusI
For God is everywhereJ
