Old Trees Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFGFHFHF

Old trees old trees in your mystic gloomA
There's many a warrior laidB
And many a nameless and lonely tombA
Is sheltered beneath your shadeB
Old trees old trees without pomp or prayerC
We buried the brave and the trueD
We fired a volley and left them thereC
To rest old trees with youD
-
Old trees old trees keep watch and wardE
Over each grass grown bedF
'Tis a glory old trees to stand as guardG
Over the Southern deadF
Old trees old trees we shall pass awayH
Like the leaves you yearly shedF
But ye lone sentinels still must stayH
Old trees to guard our deadF
