In Memoriam Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGHII JKJKLL

Go heart of mine the way is longA
The night is dark the place is farB
Go kneel and pray or chant a songA
Beside two graves where Mary's starB
Shines o'er two children's hearts at restC
With Mary's medals on their breastC
-
Go heart those children loved you soD
Their little lips prayed oft for youE
But ah those necks are lying lowD
Round which you twined the badge of blueE
Go to their graves this Virgin's feastF
With poet's song and prayer of priestF
-
Go like a pilgrim to a shrineG
For that is holy ground where sleepH
Children of Mary and of thineG
Go kneel and pray and sing and weepH
Last summer how their faces smiledI
When each was blessed as Mary's childI
-
-
-
My heart is gone I cannot singJ
Beside those children's grave song diesK
Hush Poet Priest Prayer hath a wingJ
To pass the stars and reach the skiesK
Sweet children from the land of lightL
Look down and bless my heart to nightL
