I Often Wonder Why 'tis So Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG HIHI JKJK LBLM NONO

Some find work where some find restA
And so the weary world goes onB
I sometimes wonder which is bestA
The answer comes when life is goneC
-
Some eyes sleep when some eyes wakeD
And so the dreary night hours goE
Some hearts beat where some hearts breakD
I often wonder why 'tis soE
-
Some wills faint where some wills fightF
Some love the tent and some the fieldG
I often wonder who are rightF
The ones who strive or those who yieldG
-
Some hands fold where other handsH
Are lifted bravely in the strifeI
And so thro' ages and thro' landsH
Move on the two extremes of lifeI
-
Some feet halt where some feet treadJ
In tireless march a thorny wayK
Some struggle on where some have fledJ
Some seek when others shun the frayK
-
Some swords rust where others clashL
Some fall back where some move onB
Some flags furl where others flashL
Until the battle has been wonM
-
Some sleep on while others keepN
The vigils of the true and braveO
They will not rest till roses creepN
Around their name above a graveO
