C.s.a Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABBA AAACCA AAADDA AAAEEA AAAFFA AAAGGA

Do we weep for the heroes who died for usA
Who living were true and tried for usA
And dying sleep side by side for usA
The Martyr bandB
That hallowed our landB
With the blood they shed in a tide for usA
-
Ah fearless on many a day for usA
They stood in front of the fray for usA
And held the foeman at bay for usA
And tears should fallC
Fore'er o'er allC
Who fell while wearing the gray for usA
-
How many a glorious name for usA
How many a story of fame for usA
They left Would it not be a blame for usA
If their memories partD
From our land and heartD
And a wrong to them and shame for usA
-
No no no they were brave for usA
And bright were the lives they gave for usA
The land they struggled to save for usA
Will not forgetE
Its warriors yetE
Who sleep in so many a grave for usA
-
On many and many a plain for usA
Their blood poured down all in vain for usA
Red rich and pure like a rain for usA
They bleed we weepF
We live they sleepF
All lost the only refrain for usA
-
But their memories e'er shall remain for usA
And their names bright names without stain for usA
The glory they won shall not wane for usA
In legend and layG
Our heroes in GrayG
Shall forever live over again for usA
