How can I see you in the halls without coming over to talk?
Why must we have separate ways to walk?
We promised always but here we are
You’re a familiar face but somehow so far
How can we be strangers after knowing every secret?
We used to call every day, I miss it
I still know your favorite color and the teacher you hate
But they’ve both changed, now a different fate
How is your family doing? It’s been a while
When I think of them I still smile
What ever happened to forever?
We once said infinity now it’s never
Gold or silver?
Fall or summer?
Things I knew but can’t recall
Sometimes the world feels so small
Old photos rot on the shelf
Like a Christmas box in your garage with lights and an elf
Memories so faded they’re almost gone
They no longer can be drawn
Oh, how can we be strangers to this day?
Once laughter shared but now in the way
I miss everything about you
I wonder if you think about me too
