The British Gyp Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDBDB EFGFHIJI KLMLNINI

That luscious lip the British GypA
I leave to rove a reckless rangerB
To seek a life with War for wifeC
Defying Death despising dangerB
Yet while I speed from field to fieldD
Enamored of the stranger's daughterB
I know the best that earth can yieldD
Are nested by the British waterB
-
Her lithe blithe form outbraves the stormE
That spreads disaster in its shadowF
And when it clears her form appearsG
A flower upon the greening meadowF
And if for fame you'll have me nameH
The land of most bewitching daughtersI
My heart replies with softening sighsJ
The land begirt by British watersI
-
Her starry eye lets arrows flyK
That pierce the ice of arctic reasonL
The kiss that thrills the glance that killsM
Make wild the wise and laugh at TreasonL
And when a soldier on paradeN
Beyond the bourne of British watersI
My eyes are on the stranger maidN
My heart is with the English daughtersI
