The day of War is overA
When to please a Prince aloneB
A thousand slaughtered wretchesC
Were to the eagles thrownB
There is gloom upon its gloryD
There is rust upon its swordE
For the day of Peace is dawningF
In the coming of the LordE
-
Arise in Christian manhoodG
And join the joyous throngH
With Jesus in your musicI
And His mercy in your songH
For His blood hath been the ransomJ
For the World for you for meD
And His love o'erflows the mountainsC
In an everlasting seaD
-
For the Christ who rose in gloryD
Shall return to earth the sameK
And the warring hosts shall vanishL
At the voicing of His nameK
And the stars shall flash new splendorsD
At the fulness of His graceD
For the Heavens reflect His gloryD
And the Earth shall show His faceD
-
Then with Mercy in the mightyD
And forgiveness in the strongH
The meek shall be our judgesD
And the Right shall rule the WrongH
And with one acclaim all peoplesD
Will the Love of Jesus praiseD
And their Glory HallelujahsD
Shall fill the happy daysD
