Sonnet Of Motherhood Xxxi Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDECDE

Beloved I who shall be mother soonA
Need mothering myself this tired hourB
As heavily the sweet and precious powerB
Weighs on my heart till I am near to swoonA
Console me soothe me Dearest with the boonA
Of your firm strength and little comforts showerB
Soft on the drifting doubtings that devourB
Patience and courage when the death winds croonA
-
You are your mother Dear as I am mineC
And as we slumber to our souls caressD
Those two who panged for us and weeping smiledE
Draw near and bind us in a peace divineC
O mother me all else is comfortlessD
As painted lips above a dying childE
