Sonnet Of Motherhood Xl Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCCBBA DEFDEF

A miracle of miracles is hereA
Take off your shoes This place is holy groundB
No man child ours like that the shepherd foundB
By dreaming Mary when the Star burned clearC
Our God has given us a woman dearC
With satin skin her dimpling shoulders roundB
No pinkest shell with sea blown bubbles crownedB
Could match the marvel of her tiny earA
-
How like to me and yet tis you all youD
I dare not touch her Take your soul My OwnE
Set in my body with your mind your sightF
Your dreams and thoughts with every promise trueD
A queen to sit upon a regal throneE
With a man s soul won out of woman s rightF
