Sonnet Of Motherhood X Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA BCABCA

I walked among the flowers that bend their headsA
Low to the earth and back again to lightB
Hearing them prattle of their blue and whiteB
Violet and jasmine in the bordered bedsA
They whispered them of every wing that wedsA
Fragrance to fragrance in the dusky nightB
And seeing them I knew another sightB
And saw them bowing where all Beauty spreadsA
-
I touched each petal with the sunbeams flakedB
Roses and pansies of the early mornC
Lilies that lilted of the moon s light graceA
And left them hushed when all my joy was slakedB
For in the garden of my soul God bornC
Each flower made beauty for my child s soft faceA
