Love Sonnet Xxviii Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDECDF

Give me a child Dear Heart we have loved longA
Draining each other s sweetness to the lastB
Wild drops of honeyed madness falling fastB
Upon our limbs in ecstasies of songA
More love we cried More and still more And strongA
And fierce the tide of passion filled the vastB
Immeasured space of our desire and castB
Us breathless to the realms the white gods throngA
-
My Poet let the tempest rise once moreC
Until from spirit out of spirit wiseD
And free we draw our own youth back againE
My dimpled chin your eyes and learn the loreC
Of everlasting life and all empriseD
From the sweet child that comes to us through painF
