Composed By The Side Of Grasmere Lake 1806 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBCDEDEEF

CLOUDS lingering yet extend in solid barsA
Through the grey west and lo these waters steeledB
By breezeless air to smoothest polish yieldB
A vivid repetition of the starsA
Jove Venus and the ruddy crest of MarsA
Amid his fellows beauteously revealedB
At happy distance from earth's groaning fieldB
Where ruthless mortals wage incessant warsC
Is it a mirror or the nether SphereD
Opening to view the abyss in which she feedsE
Her own calm fires But list a voice is nearD
Great Pan himself low whispering through the reedsE
'Be thankful thou for if unholy deedsE
Ravage the world tranquillity is here 'F
