At Sea Off The Isle Of Man Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBABABACDDEFF

Bold words affirmed in days when faith was strongA
And doubts and scruples seldom teased the brainB
That no adventurer's bark had power to gainB
These shores if he approached them bent on wrongA
For suddenly up conjured from the MainB
Mists rose to hide the Land that search though longA
And eager might be still pursued in vainB
O Fancy what an age was 'that' for songA
That age when not by 'laws' inanimateC
As men believed the waters were impelledD
The air controlled the stars their courses heldD
But element and orb on 'acts' did waitE
Of 'Powers' endued with visible form instinctF
With will and to their work by passion linkedF
