Death Of Nelson - West. (exhibition, 1807.) Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDDAAEEFF

Turn to Britannia's triumphs on the mainA
See Nelson pale and fainting 'mid the slainA
Whilst Victory sighs stern in the garb of warB
And points through clouds the rocks of TrafalgarC
Here cease the strain but while thy hulls shall rideD
Britain dark shadowing the tumultuous tideD
May other Nelsons on the sanguine mainA
Guide like a god the battle's hurricaneA
And when the funeral's transient pomp is pastE
High hung the banner hushed the battle's blastE
May the brave character to ages shineF
And Genius consecrate the immortal shrineF
