Shortened Lives Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EECF GGHG

To us it seemed his life was too soon doneA
Ended indeed while scarcely yet begunA
God with His clearer vision saw that heB
Was ready for a larger ministryB
-
Just so we thought of Him whose life belowC
Was so full charged with bitterness and woeC
Our clouded vision would have crowned Him KingD
He chose the lowly way of sufferingD
-
Remember too how short His life on earthE
But three and thirty years 'twixt death and birthE
And of those years but three whereof we knowC
Yet those three years immortal seed did sowF
-
It is not tale of years that tells the wholeG
Of Man's success or failure but the soulG
He brings to them the songs he sings to themH
The steadfast gaze he fixes on the goalG
