Road-mates Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AA BB CC DD EF GG HH AA

From deepest depth O Lord I cry to TheeA
My Love runs quick to your necessityA
-
I am bereft my soul is sick with lossB
Dear one I know My heart broke on the CrossB
-
What most I loved is gone I walk aloneC
My Love shall more than fill his place my ownC
-
The burden is too great for me to bearD
Not when I'm here to take an equal shareD
-
The road is long and very wearisomeE
Just on in front I see the light of homeF
-
The night is black I fear to go astrayG
Hold My hand fast I'll lead you all the wayG
-
My eyes are dim with weeping all the nightH
With one soft kiss I will restore your sightH
-
And Thou wilt do all this for me for meA
For this I came to bear you companyA
