With a willA
With a willA
With a will and surelyB
Without failC
Drive each nailC
Build we so securelyB
-
The Pioneer the Undaunted OneD
Worn with long journeyings through the Great Dark LandE
Rests for a season from his mighty laboursF
And seeks fresh vigour in a change of toilG
-
Labour is sweetH
When hands and hearts are willingI
Who truly worksF
Is God's own law fulfillingI
-
With his own hands he helps to build a templeJ
Here in the wilds a temple to his GodK
Rough hewn and roughly thatched but still a houseF
Of prayer a holy place and consecrateL
To Him whose noblest temples are not builtM
With hands but in the opened hearts of menN
-
The Master workedO
With His own hands expressingI
His sure beliefP
That therein lay God's blessingI
-
Thus as he toils with axe and nail and hammerQ
His heart rejoices so the Master workedO
And by His lowly toil for ever stampedR
True labour with its highest dignityB
-
With a willA
With a willA
With a will and surelyB
Without failC
Drive each nailC
Build we so securelyB
