Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH JKIL IMNM CHJH

Winter hung about the waysA
Very loth to goB
Little Spring could not get past himC
Try she never soB
-
This side that side everywhereD
Winter held the trackE
Little Spring sat down and whimperedF
Winter humped his backE
-
Summer called her Come dear comeG
Why do you delayH
Come and help me Sister SummerI
Winter blocks my wayH
-
Little Spring tried everythingJ
Sighs and moans and tearsK
Winter howled with mocking laughterI
Covered her with jeersL
-
Winter rough old surly beggarI
Practised every viceM
Pelted her with hail and snow stormsN
Clogged her feet with iceM
-
But by chance at last they caught himC
Unawares one dayH
Tied his hands and feet and dancingJ
Sped upon their wayH
