Is Life Worth Living? Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDD EFGH IIJJJKK

Is life worth livingA
It depends on your believingA
If it ends with this short spanB
Then is man no better thanB
The beasts that perishC
But a Loftier Hope we cherishC
Life out of Death is written wideD
Across Life's page on every sideD
We cannot think as ended our dear dead who diedD
-
What room is left us then for doubt or fearE
Love laughs at thought of ending there or hereF
God would lack meaning if this world were allG
And this short life but one long funeralH
-
God is Christ loves Christ livesI
And by His Own Returning givesI
Sure pledge of ImmortalityJ
The first fruits He and weJ
The harvest of His victoryJ
The life beyond shall this life far transcendK
And Death is the Beginning not the EndK
