Comfort Ye! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DEDEFE FDFDGHIH JKJK

Comfort ye my peopleA
Saith your GodB
And be ye comfortedC
And be ye comfortedC
-
Roughly my plough did plough youD
Sharp were my strokes and soreE
But nothing less could bow youD
Nothing less could your souls restoreE
To the depths and the heights of my longingF
To the strength you had known beforeE
-
For you were falling fallingF
Even the best of youD
Falling from your high callingF
And this My test of youD
Has been for your souls' redemptionG
From the little things of earthH
What seemed to you death's agonyI
Was but a greater birthH
-
And now you shall have gladnessJ
For the years you have seen illK
Give up to Me your sadnessJ
And I your cup will fillK
