My eyes are closedA
Yet I can seeB
Visions of days gone byC
Mingling with momentsD
That are yet to beB
-
Is it precious jewelsE
From time's treasure chestF
Or Pandora's boxG
Waiting for the joke on meB
-
I hear the soundsH
Of voices thatI
Call to meB
Echoing downJ
The paths of yesterdayK
-
Can I answerL
Will they hear meB
In those momentsD
Before sleep makes its claimM
Are the rules ofN
Time and spaceO
Blissfully suspendedP
-
Maybe the scenes and voicesQ
Are images ofN
Another place and timeR
Where all will be made rightS
That once had gone so wrongT
Where all mistakesU
Have never beenV
Where all the dreamsW
Can start againX
-
The way it allY
Was really meant to beB
-
Right before sleepZ
Makes its claimM
The truth isA2
Momentarily revealedB2

Poet's note: People sometimes see images and hear sounds or voices before they fall asleep, which some say are hallucinations. But what if they're not/ What if in that halfway state before sleep your psyche tunes in to the possibilities beyond what we call life; maybe you get a glimpse that there's more to it, even though you may be frightened or afraid to believe in it. I'm open to all possibilities.
