When I’m Gone Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF GGHH

When I m gone the night will weepA
Soft echoes linger shadows deepA
The chair will wait the room will sighB
A hollow silence will replyB
-
The songs I sang will fade awayC
Their notes dissolve with break of dayC
Yet in the quiet faint and trueD
A trace of love will cling to youD
-
When I m gone the stars will mournE
Their silver threads of light forlornE
The wind will whisper through the treesF
A fragile hymn of memoriesF
-
But do not grieve the fleeting flameG
For life and loss are much the sameG
Though absence carves its heavy stoneH
My heart still beats within your ownH
