How soft is the moon on GlengariffB
The rocks seem to melt with the lightC
Oh would I were there with dear FannyD
To tell her that love is as brightC
And nobly the sun of JulyA
O'er the waters of Adragoole shinesE
Oh would that I saw the green bannerF
Blaze there over conquering linesE

-
Oh love is more fair than the moonlightC
And glory more grand than the sunG
And there is no rest for a brave heartH
Till its bride and its laurels are wonG
But next to the burst of our bannerF
And the smile of dear Fanny I craveB
The moon on the rocks of GlengariffB
The sun upon Adragoole's waveB
