Female Author Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDED FGFG HH

All day she plays at chess with the bones of the worldA
Favored while suddenly the rains beginB
Beyond the window she lies on cushions curledA
And nibbles an occasional bonbon of sinB
-
Prim pink breasted feminine she nursesC
Chocolate fancies in rose papered roomsD
Where polished higboys whisper creaking cursesE
And hothouse roses shed immortal bloomsD
-
The garnets on her fingers twinkle quickF
And blood reflects across the manuscriptG
She muses on the odor sweet and sickF
Of festering gardenias in a cryptG
-
And lost in subtle metaphor retreatsH
From gray child faces crying in the streetsH
