Evensong Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGGHH

Beauty calls and gives no warningA
Shadows rise and wander on the dayB
In the twilight in the quiet eveningA
We shall rise and smile and go awayB
Over the flaming leavesC
Freezes the skyD
It is the season grievesC
Not you not ID
All our spring times all our summersE
We have kept the longing warm withinF
Now we leave the after comersE
To attain the dreams we did not winF
O we have wakened Sweet and had our birthG
And that's the end of earthG
And we have toiled and smiled and kept the lightH
And that's the end of nightH
