Mike Myers Books, Mike Myers poetry book The Smart Aleck Chronicles III Authors: Mike Robertson
Publisher: AuthorHouse
Published Date: 2014-01-17
Categories: Fiction
The original Smart Aleck Chronicles was published to little, if any notice in 2007. This was followed five years later with the release of a second volume. As noted in the prefaces to both these collections, their intended purpose was to present to readers a series of literary entertainments on a range of issues, activities, personalities and phenomena. In this, the third volume, these observations and commentaries continue, combined once again with short works of fiction. The author hopes, as he did with respect to the two previous volumes, that this edition is faithful to the lofty standards and possible amusements of those books.

Mike Myers Books, Mike Myers poetry book Projections 10 Authors: Mike Figgis
Publisher: Faber & Faber
Published Date: 2012-10-18
Categories: Performing Arts
Mike Figgis has always been intrigued by the workings of the Hollywood System. As he progressed from his acclaimed US debut Internal Affairs, through hellish studio wrangles on Mr. Jones, to Oscar-laurelled success with Leaving Las Vegas, Figgis always wanted to find a way to document the mores of the Hollywood industry, before it could swallow him whole. For Projections, he accepted an invitation to return to LA in late 1998 and create just such a document. In conversation with established players such as Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster and Jerry Bruckheimer, plus ascending talents such as Salma Hayek and Paul Thomas Anderson, Figgis paints a refreshingly honest but unmistakably dark portrait of an industry where money does more than talk. Mike Figgis's witnesses include Mel Gibson, Jodie Foster, Mickey Rourke, Nastassja Kinski, Elizabeth Shue, Salma Hayek, Paul Thomas Anderson, Jerry Bruckheimer and many more . . .

Mike Myers Books, Mike Myers poetry book Great American Youth Authors: Mike Scott
Publisher: AuthorHouse
Published Date: 2011-04-04
Categories: True Crime
Based on actual events, this soul-gripping tale is an account of survival in the urban jungle of Chicago, in the 1980s. While embarked on his own street-journey, Michael Scott enters a world in which a band of brothers are locked in a desperate engagement, an Alamo-like siege of their hood. Amidst turbulent conditions, the narrator gives us all a ticket to ride next to him on this roller coaster ride, with its twist and turns of horror and frustration, suspense and humor. Following in the tradition of profound gang tales such as "The Outsiders" and "West Side Story," this must-read book goes beneath the hardcore surface to show the struggle of the human spirit.

These reviews have been collected to preserve them in an archival physical form to rescue them from the ephemeral nature of the net. Wilfrid Scawen Blunt Poem
A Woman-s Sonnets: Ii
 by Wilfrid Scawen Blunt

Nay, dear one, ask me not to leave thee yet.
Let me a little longer hold thy hand.
Too soon it is to bid me to forget
The joys I was so late to understand.
The future holds but a blank face for me,
The past is all confused with tears and grey,
But the sweet present, while thy smiles I see,
Is perfect sunlight, an unclouded day.
