The Nixes' Song Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCBBB BBDEEDBB FFBBBBGG BBHFFHCC

Vague vague 'neath darkling wavesA
With emerald curving cavesA
For the arched skiesB
Red walled with dark dull goldC
The Nixes' city oldC
Deep glimmering liesB
And thro' the long green nights the spangling sparsB
Twinkle like milky starsB
-
Where the wind ripple playsB
On tufts of dipping spraysB
Sparkling we rockD
With blooming fingers bareE
Comb down our golden hairE
In many a lockD
While poured o'er naked ease of cool moist limbsB
An amber glamour swimsB
-
Or in the middle nightF
When cold damp fire flies lightF
Pale flitting brandsB
Down all the woodland aislesB
With swift mysterious smilesB
Link we white handsB
And where the moonlight haunts the drowsy lakeG
Bask in its silver wakeG
-
Come join come join our danceB
While the warm starbeams glanceB
And the kind moonH
Spills all her flowers of lightF
At the dark feet of NightF
And soon full soonH
Thou'lt sleep in shadowy halls where dim and coldC
Our city's walled with goldC
