This book features Karl Lagerfeld's most beautiful photographs of Haute Couture garments shot for French fashion magazine Numéro, to celebrate its fifteen years of collaboration with the famous fashion designer. Who else but Lagerfeld could better reveal the timeless and intricate beauty of Haute Couture? With all his innate imagination and indulgence, Lagerfeld has immortalized the iconic models of our time within the covers of Numéro--Cara Delevingne, Linda Evangelista, Natasha Poly, Anja Rubik, Lara Stone, Stella Tennant, Natalia Vodianova... all these and more have participated in his game, often framed by sumptuous decors worthy of the greatest Hollywood productions. Lagerfeld's spectacular stagings visualize our most daring fantasies of female archetypes, from fairytale princesses to contemporary muses.

Paris Photo is the world's largest art fair dedicated to photography and annually attracts thousands of artists, professionals, collectors and enthusiasts to Paris' Grand Palais--this year from 9 to 12 November. Over 180 galleries and publishers present a comprehensive historical panorama of photography, from vintage prints to the latest contemporary works and everything in between. But how are we to best navigate this almost overwhelming photographic bounty? Paris Photo by Karl Lagerfeld provides the answer by presenting Karl Lagerfeld's personal selection of his favorite photos from the thousands on show at this year's fair. We are thus able to "visit" Paris Photo as if in Lagerfeld's own company, and enjoy his curated perspective that is shaped by his decades of experience as a photographer, photobook publisher and book dealer. Lagerfeld's chosen photos will also be indicated at Paris Photo itself, allowing us to wander the fair through Lagerfeld's eyes.

This is Karl Lagerfeld's own album of the photographic stories and sequences that he has created over the last eight years. Shot in black and white, often with models and costumes, his photographs are at once stylish, sensuous, literate, and full of fantasy and desire. Here are Lagerfeld's baroque photographic stagings of Dangerous Liasons and Afternoon of a Faun; other stories show actress Emma Thompson performing a homage to the choreographer Mary Wigman, and Helena Bonham-Carter playing Cinderella, and the Duchess of Windsor playing out the public drama of her private life."

Categories: Capri Island (Italy)
There was something in Capri, in its most wild, most solitary, most dramatic part, where the island, nearly human, becomes ferocious, where nature expresses itself with a cruel and incomparable strength, an extremely pure and linear promontory, which tore up the sea with its cutting claw. No place in Italy has such a wide horizon to stare at, nor such a depth of feeling. A site only for strong men and for free spirits Here, in this wilderness, I am the first one who will build a house. Few modern buildings embody antique beauty and mythical magic like Casa Malaparte, designed by the controversial Italian journalist, poet and novelist Curzio Malaparte in 1937 as a home for himself. Karl Lagerfeld visited the site for five days in November 1997 and took a series of Polaroids, which were subsequently transferred to Arches mold-made paper and published in book form by Steidl in 1998. This soughtafter classic is finally available again in a new edition.

Wilfrid Scawen Blunt Poem
A Woman-s Sonnets: Ii
 by Wilfrid Scawen Blunt

Nay, dear one, ask me not to leave thee yet.
Let me a little longer hold thy hand.
Too soon it is to bid me to forget
The joys I was so late to understand.
The future holds but a blank face for me,
The past is all confused with tears and grey,
But the sweet present, while thy smiles I see,
Is perfect sunlight, an unclouded day.
