A Haunted Room. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDDCDC| In the dim chamber whence but yesterday | A |
| Passed my beloved filled with awe I stand | B |
| And haunting Loves fluttering on every hand | B |
| Whisper her praises who is far away | A |
| A thousand delicate fancies glance and play | A |
| On every object which her robes have fanned | B |
| And tenderest thoughts and hopes bloom and expand | B |
| In the sweet memory of her beauty's ray | A |
| Ah could that glass but hold the faintest trace | C |
| Of all the loveliness once mirrored there | D |
| The clustering glory of the shadowy hair | D |
| That framed so well the dear young angel face | C |
| But no it shows my own face full of care | D |
| And my heart is her beauty's dwelling place | C |
