GreatWarCentre: The 2nd Battle of Ypres took place from April 22nd to May 25th, 1915 and is often referred to as a ‘baptism of fire’ for the Canadian forces involved, their first major action of the war. It is during this battle that LCol John McCrae wrote his famous poem “In Flanders Fields.”
